The central heating training course is to help heating engineers have a good understanding of central heating control systems, specifically how to install S and Y plan systems and carry out fault-finding.

Aims of the central heating course are for installers to get in-depth knowledge of:

• The principle function of system components on a heating system
• Understanding and using manufacturers' heating system wiring guides
• Practical wiring application for a 2 port valve (S plan) system
• Practical wiring application for a 3 port valve (Y plan) system
• Commissioning the system including basic electrical safety checks
• Diagnosing and rectifying system faults

Who should attend?

Experienced heating engineers, installers, maintenance engineers and electricians who require a more detailed understanding of system wiring and controls.

Suggested prior knowledge or understanding

Candidates must have attended the Multimeter course (day one of the three day Boiler fault finding course) and have a basic knowledge of heating and hot water systems.
