How much your new boiler costs will depend on a number of things, including the model and output of the boiler, any associated new pipework or radiators and whether your new boiler is to be installed in the same place as your old one. You also need to factor in the cost of a system flush (to get rid of all the debris in the heating system before you fix a brand new boiler to it), magnetic filter, thermostat and timer or thermostatic radiator valves.
We recommend getting at least three different quotes from Gas Safe registered heating engineers, but don’t be tempted to cut corners. For example, not having the system flushed will save money in the short term but may be a false economy if your new boiler’s heat exchanger gets blocked up with all the debris from your old heating system.
